In the aftermath of the recent elections, even as the democratic process has formally concluded, concerns are mounting over attempts by certain anti-social elements to disturb peace in parts of Tripura. A serious incident has been reported from Pekuajala’s Janmejoy Nagar, where dedicated workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were allegedly attacked.

Local MLA Ram Prasad Paul visited the affected areas to assess the situation firsthand. Describing the incident as deeply unfortunate and condemnable, he alleged that the attack was carried out by members associated with Tipra Motha Party.

According to reports, several BJP workers and leaders from the Gholaghati, Takarjala, Pekuajala’s Janmejoy Nagar area have fled their homes out of fear following the incident. Upon receiving the information, Ram Prasad Paul, accompanied by local party workers, reached the violence-affected zones, interacted with the victims, and reviewed the ground situation in detail. He also held discussions with local police officials and urged the administration to take swift and strict action to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.

Appealing for calm, the MLA emphasized that while political differences are natural in a democracy, violence can never be a solution. He called upon all sections to maintain peace, harmony, and brotherhood to ensure a stable environment in the region.

Earlier, prominent leaders including Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, Chief Minister Manik Saha, BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, and Minister Tinku Roy had also appealed for maintaining peace across the state following the ADC election results, amid allegations of post-poll violence involving Tipra Motha supporters.

However, despite these appeals, reports suggest that tensions persist in certain areas, raising concerns over law and order and the need for immediate intervention to restore normalcy.
