In a significant political development in Tripura, State Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy has raised serious concerns over the continued incidents of violence targeting BJP workers in ADC areas, despite an earlier appeal by Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma to maintain peace.

The issue came to the forefront after the minister visited several violence-affected locations in the Sabroom ADC region. During his visit, he interacted with local residents and assessed the situation on the ground, which has reportedly remained tense following the announcement of ADC election results.

Speaking to the media, the Finance Minister acknowledged the influence of Pradyot Kishore Debbarma within Tipra Motha, stating that his directives are generally respected by party members. However, he questioned why attacks on BJP supporters have not ceased even after Debbarma’s public appeal to stop such incidents.

Pranajit Singha Roy further urged the Tipra Motha leadership to take stronger and more effective measures to ensure that peace is restored in the ADC areas. He emphasized that merely making appeals is not sufficient unless they are backed by concrete actions on the ground.

The minister also called upon Pradyot Kishore Debbarma to play a more proactive role in enforcing his directives and ensuring that party workers adhere strictly to calls for non-violence. According to him, maintaining law and order in the region is crucial for democratic stability and public confidence.

The situation in the ADC areas continues to be closely monitored, with political tensions remaining high in the aftermath of the election results.
