At the prestigious Chintan Shivir Pune, Tripura has once again demonstrated its growing strength in healthcare governance and digital innovation, securing two significant national recognitions under flagship Government of India programmes. The achievement highlights the state’s consistent progress in strengthening public health systems and embracing technology-driven healthcare delivery.
The awards were presented yesterday under two major national missions — Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission — where states and Union Territories were evaluated on critical performance indicators.
Tripura emerged as the Best Performing Small State in Timely Processing of Suspicious Claims (TAT) under AB PM-JAY. This recognition is particularly significant as it reflects the state’s efficiency in detecting, scrutinising, and resolving potentially fraudulent or irregular claims within stipulated timelines. Such performance ensures transparency, financial discipline, and trust in one of the world’s largest health assurance schemes.
In addition, Tripura secured another major accolade under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The state was honoured as the Best Performing State under Top State in IEC-CB Activities, recognising its outstanding efforts in Information, Education, Communication, and Capacity Building (IEC-CB) initiatives. This award underscores Tripura’s success in spreading awareness about digital health services, onboarding healthcare providers, and encouraging citizens to adopt digital health records and platforms.
The awards were received on behalf of the state by Bijan Dutta, IT Manager of Tripura NHM, reflecting the crucial role played by the National Health Mission team in driving these initiatives forward through effective implementation and grassroots-level engagement.
The national conclave also honoured several other states and Union Territories for excellence in parameters such as pre-authorisation approval timelines, bio-authentication rates, completion of mandatory training modules, and digital health adoption. However, Tripura’s dual recognition stands out as a testament to its balanced focus on administrative efficiency and digital transformation.
These achievements align with Tripura’s broader commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery systems, ensuring accountability, and embracing innovation. The recognition at a national platform like the Chintan Shivir reinforces the state’s position as a model performer among smaller states, particularly in areas requiring precision, responsiveness, and public engagement.
Tripura’s success is expected to further motivate healthcare administrators and policymakers in the state to scale up digital initiatives and maintain high standards in scheme implementation, ultimately benefiting thousands of beneficiaries across the state.
