10 MMDUP trainees secure placements

Ten candidates trained as Solar PV Installers under the Mukhya Mantri Dakhyata Unnayan Prakalpa (MMDUP) in Unakoti district have secured placement on a monthly wage basis, officials said on Saturday.

According to official sources, the candidates have been employed by Mahamaya Private Limited and Raima Energy, both based in West Tripura, with a monthly remuneration of Rs 10,000.

The placements are being seen as a positive outcome of the state government’s efforts to enhance employability through targeted skill development initiatives, particularly in the renewable energy sector.

A felicitation programme was organised to mark the achievement, during which the ten successful candidates were honoured. The two employing organisations were also felicitated for facilitating job opportunities and contributing to the state’s skilling ecosystem.

Officials from the Directorate of Skill Development commended the candidates for their efforts, stating that such outcomes highlight the effectiveness of structured training programmes like MMDUP in linking skill development with employment.

They also acknowledged the role played by industry partners in bridging the gap between training and job placement.

The Directorate expressed hope that the candidates would continue to perform well in their respective roles and contribute to the growing renewable energy sector in the state.

The MMDUP scheme has been a key initiative in equipping youth across Tripura with industry-relevant skills, aimed at improving their prospects for sustainable livelihoods, officials added.
