RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat to visit Tripura on April 21

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to visit Tripura on April 21 to attend the unveiling of a newly built temple and the pran pratishtha ceremony of an idol at Chinmaya Mission School in Mohanpur, sources said on Friday.

Sources in the RSS’s Tripura unit said Bhagwat is expected to arrive in Agartala on April 20, as the religious ceremony is slated to take place early the following morning.

Apart from attending the event at the school, Bhagwat is also likely to visit Seva Dham Ashram during his stay in the state, the sources added.

The detailed itinerary of the RSS chief’s visit has not yet been officially announced.

Bhagwat’s visit assumes significance as it comes at a time when the BJP-led government in Tripura is closely engaged with organisational activities following the recently concluded Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections.

Officials associated with the preparations said arrangements are underway for the visit, although no official statement has yet been issued regarding the full schedule.
