Repoll in Hirapur and Kulai-Champahaor peaceful, high security

The repoll ordered by the state election commission in several polling booths across three ADC constituencies came off peacefully today without any untoward incident having marred the proceedings. Official sources said that repolling in one booth in the Pekuarjala Janmejay Nagar constituency had been held in a festive manner with almost the entire electorate under the booth queuring up in front of it since 7-00 in the morning. There was heavy deployment of security forces in and around the booth and the entire process of repolling concluded smoothly.
Similarly, there was heavy voting in a festive mood in the booth No-17 under the Kulai-Champahaor ADC constituency also. There was heavy deployment of security forces in and around the booth as elsewhere. There was a total electorate of 699 registered with the booth and till 9-00 in the morning 149 had cast their votes even as there was a long queue of voters outside the booth. More than 90% of the voters are likely to have cast votes even though final figures are not yet out. The voters also expressed their satisfaction over peaceful voting and thanked the police personnel on duty for maintaining peace and order.
