Repoll ordered in two booths of Kulai-Champhahour ADC seat

The State Election Commission has annulled polling in two booths under the 10-Kulai-Champhahour (ST) constituency of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) and ordered a repoll on April 16

The affected polling stations are 3-Bhatimaydan SB School and 17-Ramdeb Thakur Para. The decision was taken after reports from the District Election Officer, Returning Officer and other poll officials pointed to irregularities during voting hours.

Taking serious note of the incidents, the Commission declared the earlier polling in the two booths void, stating that the lapses could have impacted the fairness of the process.

Fresh polling will be conducted from 7 am to 4 pm on the scheduled date.

Officials said additional security measures would be put in place to ensure smooth conduct of voting. The Commission has appealed to political parties, candidates and voters to cooperate in maintaining peace and ensuring a free and fair repoll.
