BJP candidate Nirmal Debbarma himself has alleged that the ADC elections in Takarjala were completely rigged, amid serious claims of voter intimidation, electoral malpractice, and administrative failure. These allegations have raised significant concerns over the functioning of the State Election Commission and law enforcement agencies.

In Takarjala, Nirmal Debbarma accused Tipra Motha supporters of being stationed outside nearly every polling booth and allegedly influencing voters. He stated that he could exercise his franchise only under the protection of central security forces.

He further alleged that voters were being selectively identified and directed to polling booths, describing the situation as a mockery of democracy. Strongly criticizing the Tripura State Election Commission, he termed it ineffective and claimed there was a complete absence of police patrolling. He demanded re-polling in all booths of Takarjala, alleging that the entire electoral process had been compromised. He also said that despite informing the BJP’s top leadership earlier, no preventive action was taken.

Meanwhile, in South Taibandal under booth no. 22/7, a voter named Bhanumati Tripura alleged that her vote had already been cast by someone else, effectively depriving her of her voting rights. The incident has triggered allegations of conspiracy and bogus voting.

Reports from Takarjala further suggest that Tipra Motha workers, dressed in black, were allegedly intimidating voters and journalists across booths, while the administration appeared to remain a silent spectator.

In Tulamura, tension escalated at booth no. 57 under the 22-Kathalia–Mirja–Rajapur constituency. BJP leaders alleged that despite repeated requests, police failed to respond. The situation reportedly improved only after intervention by Abhishek Debroy, who helped free the booth from alleged capture. Additionally, an election official was reportedly assaulted by outsiders and hospitalized with serious injuries.

Further controversy has emerged in the same constituency, with allegations that the Superintendent of Police was compromised and acting in alignment with a BJP MLA, raising serious concerns about neutrality in policing.

Clashes between BJP and Tipra Motha supporters were also reported at booth no. 42 under the 10-Kulai Champahour constituency. Tipra Motha alleged that outsiders were casting votes, prompting the deployment of additional security forces to control the situation.

Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury also expressed concern after casting his vote. He stated that while polling began peacefully, several polling stations later denied entry to CPI(M) agents. According to him, in some booths, agents were prevented by supporters of both BJP and Tipra Motha, undermining transparency in the electoral process.

Overall, the elections have been overshadowed by widespread allegations of booth capturing, voter suppression, absence of polling agents, and administrative inaction, leading to demands for re-polling and stricter measures to ensure free and fair elections.
