15 ‘Tipra Motha’ supporters injured in jeep accident on way back from poll programme in Simna-Tamakari constituency

At least fifteen supporters sustained varying degrees of injuries in the afternoon today when the jeep in which they had been returning to Simna area from the Hezamara block area overturned on the road. Even though details were not available, sources said that the ‘Tipra Motha’ supporters had taken part in a campaign procession in support of party candidate Rabindra Debbarma of the Simna-Tamakari ADC constituency.

After the jeep overturned local people rescued the injured fifteen passengers trapped in the vehicle. The injuries of three persons were not serious and they were given only first aid in the Hezmara primary health centre but 12 others had to be sent to the GBP hospital for advanced treatment. The condition of two passengers was stated to be critical as they had been crushed by the weight of other passengers in the overturned vehicle.
