A major political controversy has erupted in Tripura following allegations that a purported bilateral agreement between the Jampui Mizo Convention and the Tipra Motha Party is fake and forged.

According to sources, the document in question allegedly carries forged signatures of Jairemthima Pachua, General Secretary of the Jampui Mizo Convention, and an Executive Member (EM) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). Both signatures are now being claimed as fraudulent.

Taking serious note of the issue, a case has been filed at Anandabazar Police Station in Kanchanpur against the circulation of the alleged fake agreement. The complainant has accused unidentified individuals of attempting to mislead the public using fabricated documents.

The controversy has sparked sharp reactions across political circles. Questions are being raised over whether any regional political party has the legal or constitutional authority to sign such agreements in the name of forming a separate regional council.

Political observers have also expressed concern that such tactics may have been used to influence voters in the name of ADC elections. Allegations suggest that the document could be part of a larger strategy to manipulate public sentiment and gain electoral advantage.

Amid growing outrage, demands for a thorough and impartial investigation have intensified. Many are calling upon the administration to identify those responsible and take strict legal action to ensure transparency and accountability.

The incident has once again highlighted the need for vigilance against misinformation and fraudulent political practices in the state.
