Vote conducting officers and employees leave for polling stations in tomorrow’s Dharma Nagar by-election

The employees and officers in charge of conducting the by-election to Dharma Nagar assembly constituency (No-56) tomorrow collected their electronic voting machines (EVMs) and other poll materials from the Dharma Nagar Girls H.S. (+2) school and left for their respective polling stations and booths. The vote casting in the by-election to the Dharma Nagar seat by-poll will commence at 7-00 in the morning tomorrow and end at 5-00 PM though the voters gathered within the polling stations within the scheduled end of polling will be allowed to cast their votes.
According to information given by the election department there are altogether 46,183 voters in the Dharma Nagar seat and out of them there are 22,380 male voters and 23,763 female voters . This means the female voters outnumber the males in the seat. Altogether 55 polling stations have been set up for tomorrow’s by-poll and among them 11 are model polling stations and 11 others will be totally women run. All the polling stations will be guarded by central security forces to ensure free and fair polling as well as to prevent any untoward incident. This information was given by the SDM , Dharma Nagar Debjani Chowdhury who is also the returning officer of the by-election to Dharma Nagar seat.
