BJP expels South Tripura functionary over ‘anti-party activities’

The Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura on Tuesday expelled a district-level functionary from its primary membership and all organisational posts, citing alleged anti-party activities.

In an official order issued by the state unit, Rati Mohan Tripura, who was serving as District Vice President in South Tripura (Pilak), was removed with immediate effect.

The communication stated that the action was taken following reports of activities deemed detrimental to party discipline and interests. The decision was carried out under the direction of state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee.

The expulsion order was signed by Amit Rakshit, State General Secretary of the party, and circulated among relevant organisational units for information.

There was no immediate response from the expelled leader.
