'I am confident that BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborty will achieve victory in Dharmanagar bypoll': CM Dr Manik Saha

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday expressed confidence that BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborty would win the Dharmanagar by-election with a higher margin than the previous poll.

Saha made the remarks after leading a party rally in Dharmanagar, where a large number of supporters participated, party sources said.

Addressing reporters, the chief minister said he was confident of the party’s prospects in the bypoll and cited the turnout at the rally as an indication of support.

“I am confident that the BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborty will achieve victory. Compared to the way BJP received votes last year, this time it will surpass the margin,” he said.

He also said party workers have been actively engaged in campaigning and organisational activities across the constituency.

Saha urged party workers to remain focused on public service and development-oriented work, stating that such efforts contribute to electoral outcomes.

The rally was organised as part of the BJP’s campaign for the Dharmanagar by-election, with senior leaders and local functionaries in attendance, sources said.

The Dharmanagar seat is set to witness a contest among major political parties, with campaigning intensifying in the run-up to the bypoll.
