Five injured as police Vehicle meets accident from brake failure in Charilam, OC Ajit Debbarma in GBP taking care of colleagues

Five Tripura police and TSR personnel including the driver of a hired police jeep met with a serious accident at Charilam Parimal Chaumuhuni around 10-30 AM on its way from Agartala to Bisramganj police station under Sepahijala district. Giving details the officer in charge of the Bisramganj police station Ajit Debbarma who is now in GBP hospital , taking care of the treatment of the injured jawans , said that the jeep had been carrying election materials to Bisramganj police station for distribution from Agartala . But after reaching the Parimal Chaumuhuni in Charilam area the Eco Vehicle skidded off the road because of the brake failure and overturned .
As soon as this happened local people as well as personnel from the Bisramganj police station under the leadership of officer in charge (OC) Ajit Debbarma rushed to the spot rescued the injured jawans and the driver and took them to the Bishalgarh subdivisional hospital . But because of the serious nature of injuries all four jawans as well as the driver had to be referred to the GBP hospital and they were brought to the GBP hospital at Agartala by OC Ajit Debbarma and his juniors .
“We have identified the injured persons as SPO jawan Talukanta Debbarma, police constable Pritam Datta, TSR rifleman Anjan Das, TSR rifleman Isumil Halam and driver Jubair Ali; their injuries are fairly serious as some one has got a fractured hand or leg, some others have suffered head injuries and deep gushes on the body and scratches ; we have ensured their admission to the hospital and the doctors are taking care” said OC Ajit Debbarma. He added that the accident had resulted from brake failure and the injured jawans and the driver were being taken good care of.
