Assam Rifles conducted a drone awareness and training session for personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force in Agartala to enhance preparedness against emerging aerial threats.

The programme included classroom and practical components aimed at familiarising CISF personnel with the use and risks associated with unmanned aerial systems.

During the session, experts briefed participants on different types of drones, their capabilities and potential security implications. Emphasis was laid on standard operating procedures, including identification, threat assessment and response measures.

This was followed by a practical segment where personnel received hands-on exposure to drone operations, including live demonstrations and basic handling techniques.

Officials said the initiative was aimed at strengthening operational readiness and improving coordination between security agencies.

“The programme helped enhance technical awareness and preparedness of personnel in dealing with drone-related situations,” an official said.

Participants termed the training relevant amid the increasing use of drones in civilian as well as security domains.

Assam Rifles has been undertaking such initiatives to boost coordination and operational efficiency among security forces in the region.
