Tripura Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Paul Treks Overnight to Neelkanth Hill in Rishikesh, Offers Ram Navami Prayers for State’s Welfare

In a rare display of devotion and determination, Tripura Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Paul undertook an overnight foot journey to the sacred Neelkanth Hill in Rishikesh and offered prayers for the welfare of the people of Tripura on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.

Starting his journey in the silence of the night, Paul walked continuously and climbed more than 500 steep steps to reach the hilltop shrine at dawn. The destination, the revered Manikut Parvat Tripura Sundari Temple, is known for its spiritual significance and physically demanding access. The serious ascent requires considerable endurance, which is why only a limited number of visitors, especially public representatives, undertake the pilgrimage. It is believed that Paul may be among the first political leaders from Tripura to complete this arduous journey.

Sharing his experience on social media, Paul described the pilgrimage as a deeply enriching spiritual journey and said he felt blessed to be part of it. He noted that as he began walking through the quiet night, the first rays of sunlight appeared just as he reached the sacred hilltop, enhancing the divine experience.

At the temple, established under the guidance of revered spiritual figure Om Maharaj, Paul participated in a sacred 1008 Kundli Yajna, strictly following all rituals and traditions. Through the yajna, he offered prayers at the feet of Lord Shiva, seeking the destruction of all negative forces and the spread of prosperity and well-being among the people.

He also prayed for peace, happiness, and progress for his family, loved ones, and the entire population of Tripura. Reflecting on the experience, Paul said the divine atmosphere, filled with chanting and spiritual energy, gave him a profound sense of connection and inner peace that would remain etched in his heart forever.

This spiritual endeavour, combining physical endurance with deep faith, stands as a significant gesture of devotion dedicated to the welfare and progress of Tripura and its people.
