Dr Pradip Bhowmik promoted to HOD (Medicine) in GBP and AGMC, Dr Arunabha Dasgupta as head of geriatric medicine

In a welcome decision the state health department has promoted Tripura’s top medicine specialist Dr Pradip Bhowmik to the post of Head of the Department (HOD) , Medicine in the GBP hospital as well as in the Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC). At the same time senior specialist Dr Arunabha Dasgupta has been promoted to the post of geriatric medicine in the GBP hospital and AGMC. A notification in this regard has been issued by the department of health and family welfare yesterday wherein it has been stated clearly that the promotions have been given in compliance with the standing guideline of National Medical Commission (NMC) and will take immediate effect.

Dr Pradip Bhowmik has long been known for his immense contribution to the health department of the state as a senior medicine specialist . He also pioneered the launching of the Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura (HFT) as a medical service and research foundation. Under Dr Bhowmik’s leadership the HFT has been rendering yeoman’s service to the people of the state affected by Hepatitis ailment in various forms. The authority of HFT have also congratulated and thanked the government of Tripura and , specially the chief minister Dr Manik Saha for extending due recognition to the service being rendered by Dr Pradip Bhowmik to the patients and people of the state through his dedicated service.
