Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha created a touching moment during his campaign for the TTAADC elections by stopping his convoy at Jeolcherra in the Atharomura hills and interacting with tribal women selling vegetables along the roadside.
During his journey, the Chief Minister got down from his convoy, spoke with the women vendors, and purchased fresh vegetables from them. The gesture reflected his support for local livelihoods and small-scale vendors.
Sharing his experience on Facebook, Dr Saha described the interaction as a truly heartwarming experience. He also echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for Vocal for Local, encouraging people to support locally produced goods.
Highlighting the importance of tribal support in the ADC areas, the Chief Minister stated that the unwavering trust and confidence of tribal communities remain the main strength of the Bharatiya Janata Party in these regions. He added that the BJP is the only reliable alternative for ensuring overall development in ADC areas and improving the standard of living of the people.
Later in the day, Dr Saha attended nomination filing events in Longtharai Valley. He was present during the submission of nominations by BJP candidates, Bipin Debbarma (Damchhara–Kachuchhara), Sukesh Dutta Barua (Manu–Chailengta), and Esmel Joy Tripura (Chawmanu).
The visit underlined the party’s continued grassroots outreach and engagement with tribal communities ahead of the crucial TTAADC elections.
