The business community of Maharajganj Bipani Bitan Market has raised serious concerns over the growing influence of alleged drug mafias, claiming that the situation has reached a critical point where normal commercial activities are nearly collapsing.

At a press conference organized today by the traders of the market, it was revealed that the persistent presence and activities of drug dealers have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. According to the traders, the situation has deteriorated so severely that ordinary customers are now reluctant to even enter the market premises.

The traders alleged that illegal drug trade is taking place both inside and around the market area. They further claimed that groups of youths regularly gather in the market, especially during morning and evening hours, to consume drugs openly, worsening the law and order situation.

Despite repeated complaints to the local police station, the traders stated that no permanent or effective solution has been implemented so far. While police patrols are occasionally conducted, the traders described these efforts as inadequate and superficial.

One of the traders even raised serious questions about the role of the police, alleging that authorities are fully aware of the situation but their response remains suspicious and ineffective.

In a collective appeal, the traders have now sought the immediate attention of the Chief Minister and the Chairman of the Municipal Corporation, urging them to take decisive action to curb the drug menace and restore a safe business environment.

The business community has also issued a warning that if the administration fails to take prompt and effective measures against the drug mafia, they may be compelled to launch stricter forms of protest or action in the coming days.

The situation at Maharajganj Bipani Bitan Market highlights a growing concern over urban drug-related issues and raises urgent questions about enforcement, public safety, and administrative accountability.
