In a significant political development ahead of the 2026 ADC elections in Tripura, former TNV militant leader Ananta Debbarma joined the BJP today morning after leaving Tipra Motha. His entry into the party has immediately been followed by his nomination as a BJP candidate for the ADC elections.

Ananta Debbarma has been fielded from the Holahali–Asharambari (ST) constituency, reflecting BJP’s strategic move to strengthen its position in tribal-dominated regions. Alongside him, Rajesh Tripura, who also left Tipra Motha today, has been nominated as a BJP candidate for the ADC polls.
