BJP to hold mega rally on Swami Vibekananda ground on February 20 to counter CPI (M) rally

Shaken to the core by the success of the opposition CPI (M)’s mass rally in Agartala on January 29 despite all kinds of obstacles created, the ruling BJP has started preparation for a mass rally in the Swami Vibekananda ground on February 20 to counter the impact of CPI (M)’s successful rally. Sources aware of the inner dynamics of BJP said that the realization has dawned on the leadership that the organizational inertia of the party has been giving a scope to the CPI (M) rejuvenate itself and capture the political space. That is why a decision has been taken to hold a massive rally in Agartala’s Swami Vivekananda ground on February 20 with central leaders in attendance.

All the front organizations of the party will be geared up to ensure a resounding success for the proposed rally . Sources said that the party’s central leadership is also aware of what happened and have instructed the state leadership to go for a counter rally .

Meanwhile, former Tripura observer of BJP Sunil Deodhar who is currently in charge of Andhra Pradesh paid a day’s visit to the state on an undisclosed mission and left within twenty four hours. Sources said that Deodhar’s mission was to assess who among the state leaders would be best qualified to don the mantle of next state president . During the brief visit Deodhar met all senior leaders including the chief minister Dr Manik Saha and held discussions with them. He has gone back with his recorded experience which he will bring to the notice of central leadership. Deodhar however consciously avoided contact with the media for fear of being asked inconvenient questions as none of the tall promises he had made before the 2018 assembly election has been so far been fulfilled by the two BJP governments.
