A large political rally and procession were organized at Annandabazar in Kamalpur in support of Left Front candidates, drawing significant participation from local residents. The rally was addressed by the CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury. The event highlighted growing dissatisfaction over governance issues in the Autonomous District Council (ADC) areas and called for a change in leadership.

The rally, which began with a march of nearly two kilometers along National Highway 208, saw enthusiastic participation from supporters across multiple constituencies, including Kamalpur, Chawmanu, Halahuli, and nearby areas. Several prominent leaders and party workers were present, addressing the gathering and urging voters to support Left-backed candidates in the upcoming elections.

CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury strongly criticized the current state administration, alleging failure to conduct Village Committee elections in ADC areas despite directives from the country’s highest judicial authorities. They claimed that such delays reflect a lack of democratic functioning and accountability.

The leaders further stated that even after decades of independence, indigenous communities continue to face deprivation in key sectors such as education, healthcare, roads, and land rights. According to Jitendra Chaudhury, although ADC was formed to empower tribal populations, its intended benefits have not reached the grassroots level.

They also accused regional political forces of exploiting emotional sentiments of indigenous communities for political gain, rather than focusing on real development. Concerns were raised about unemployment, lack of proper educational infrastructure, and insufficient government services in ADC-administered regions.

Referring to past elections, Jitendra Chaudhury alleged that slogans and promises made during earlier campaigns did not translate into tangible outcomes. He claimed that the current ruling dispensation has failed to address core issues, resulting in growing frustration among the people.

The rally concluded with a strong appeal to voters to bring about a political shift in the upcoming elections, emphasizing the need for transparent governance, employment generation, and equitable development in tribal areas.
