Alarming reports of Bangladeshi ‘Momins’ , perennially obsessed with carnal pursuits and violence as part of their pernicious belief system, now targeting hapless minority Hindu women have started pouring in . Needless to say, almost nothing has changed in the hellscape even after rhe installation of the elected BNP government that is scared of rubbing the thuggish Jamat-e-Islami on the wrong side, fearing alienation of ‘Momin’ vote-bank.

According to reports received from across the border a married Hindu woman Jayanti Debnath (32), only daughter of Shankar Debnath of Shah Daulatpur village under Burichong police station in Comilla district, was this morning kidnapped from within her husband’s home in broad daylight and in front of many people by a local BNP-aligned mafia don Monir Munshi. The minority Hindu community of the village are took few , too vulnerable and too scared to protest the daylight kidnapping . The kidnapped Jayanti’s father Shankar Chandra Debnath has filed a complaint with the Burichong police station but no action has so far been taken.

In a separate incident that also occurred today a teenaged school girl Deepa Ghosh (13), a student of class VII only, was kidnapped this morning while going on foot to school in her native Shibganj area under Thakurgaon district by a ‘Momin’ criminal who had been making abortive advances to her over the past few days. The teenaged girl’s father Dhirendra Ghosh, a local businessman, has filed a complaint with the Thakurgaon police station but there is no trace of the girl as yet because, as always, police will take a hefty bribe from the ‘Momin’ kidnapper and try to hush up the case.

Sources said that in another worrying case , of course by now familiar in ‘Momin’ Bangladesh, a helpess Hindu widow Kali Sarkar (39) in Barishal district is now facing forcible eviction from her husband’s home-stead and landed property because of the machinations of a local mafia Manik Munshi who falsely claimed to have lend Kali Sarkar’s late husband Jagadish Sarkar 60 lakh Bangladeshi Taka before his death and did not get it back. The hapless widow Kali Sarkar has filed a complaint with the police but no relief is expected from the ‘Momin’ police , perennially on the look out for bribe and illegal gratification.
