Midnight Horror in Agartala: Landlord Arrested for Alleged Repeated Sexual Harassment of Female Tenants

A shocking incident of alleged sexual harassment has come to light from Horizon Colony near Shiv Mandir in Agartala, where a room owner has been accused of repeatedly harassing female tenants staying in his premises.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Sanjeev Ghosh, allegedly attempted to sexually harass female students residing as tenants at around 3 AM on Saturday. The incident is not isolated, as tenants have reportedly faced similar harassment on multiple occasions in the past. Allegations include late-night knocking on doors, pressurizing tenants for relationships, and even offering money in exchange for compliance.

The situation escalated when one of the victims, in a distressed state, reached out for help around 4 AM. Responding swiftly, a team from the YTF (Youth Tipra Federation) rushed to the location and arrived by approximately 5 AM.

Upon reaching the spot, the team assessed the situation and immediately informed the police. Acting promptly, law enforcement authorities took the accused into custody.

Sources confirmed that the matter has also been taken up with the Women Police to ensure that strict legal action is initiated against the accused. The victims are currently under support and protection.

This incident has raised serious concerns over the safety of female tenants in the city, particularly students living away from their families. Local organizations and residents have called for stronger monitoring mechanisms and stricter enforcement to prevent such incidents in the future.
