Different destinations on single-file journey, 2012 science teacher in service, 10,323 dying like lambs to slaughter

Usually travellers on journey in a group are bound for same destination as per convention and even by provisions of law . But a glaring exception continue to be noticed in the case of some of the science teachers who remain in service even as their unfortunate counterparts in the jinxed 10,323 group march inexorably towards death and destruction by governmental apathy and miscarriage of justice. The contradiction here is that the 10,323 teachers had been retrenched quite illegally and in violation of constitutional provisions for being recruited in 2010 ostensibly under a fallacious policy that had never been officially notified in government gazette. But the close to one thousand science teachers who had been recruited in 2012 under the same policy have been judicially spared and continue to be in service. More bizarre is the fact that a number of such science teachers recruited in 2012 had been among petitioners against the 10,323 teachers.

One such glaring case has recently come to notice in the person of Dulal Saha, son of Jagadish Saha of Bardowali , who is the teacher in charge of PM Shri Arundhuti Nagar English Medium HS school . A notice signed by the said Dulal Saha was published in local daily newspapers announcing the date and time for distribution of admission forms for students seeking admission to his school. Sources among illegally retrenched 10,323 teachers said that said Dulal Saha was a signatory to a petition challenging the recruitment of 10,323 teachers in the Writ Peitition (C) No-208/2010. But he escaped retrenchment when his job along with other petitioners among science teachers of 2012 against the recruitment of 10,323 teachers was spared because of a compassionate stand taken by the court. They continue in service even as 230 of the retrenched 10,323 teachers have already fallen dead and more are in the queue.

“It is simply beyond our comprehension how the science teachers recruited in 2012 continue to be in service including petitioners against us as they had been recruited under the same non-gazetted policy that was held against us for retrenchment as per Para-127 in the original high court judgment of May 7 2014 whereas we have been turned into lambs to the slaughter for no fault of ours; this is possibly the worst miscarriage of justice in independent India and a huge legal paradox” said a depressed 10,323 group of teachers now struggling to make both ends meet for himself as well as for his family.
