Serious allegations have surfaced against police officers in West Tripura district after an accused in a narcotics case reportedly secured bail under controversial circumstances. The case has triggered widespread discussion and raised questions about the role of certain police and judicial officials in handling NDPS-related cases.

According to sources, the accused, identified as Raja Saha, was named as the prime accused in Amtali Police Station case number 77/2025 under the NDPS Act. The case involved serious charges related to illegal narcotics activities. Following the case registration, the court had issued a proclamation declaring him an absconder.

However, despite the seriousness of the allegations and the court’s earlier proclamation, Raja Saha reportedly managed to obtain bail from the court. This development has led to allegations that some police officials may have facilitated the process after allegedly receiving a large sum of money.

Local sources claim that lakhs of rupees may have changed hands to influence the investigation and the legal process. These allegations have been directed particularly toward certain officers of Amtali Police Station and former officers of East Agartala Police Station. The accusations suggest that the course of the case may have been altered to help the accused secure bail.

The situation has sparked strong reactions among local residents and observers, many of whom are questioning how an accused in a serious NDPS case could obtain bail so easily. Legal experts and members of the public are also raising concerns about possible lapses in the investigation and prosecution.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that multiple cases had been registered against Raja Saha earlier as well, including cases under various sections related to narcotics offenses. Despite these charges, his ability to obtain bail has intensified suspicions about irregularities in the process.

The controversy has now prompted calls for a thorough inquiry into the conduct of the police officials involved in the case. Many are demanding that the higher authorities examine whether there was any misconduct or violation of procedure in handling the investigation and the bail process.

If proven true, the allegations could have serious implications for the credibility of law enforcement agencies in the state. Authorities are expected to review the matter closely as public pressure mounts for transparency and accountability.
