Super Speciality Hospital to Come Up at Hapania Jute Mill Land, CM Dr Manik Saha Launches Major Healthcare Facilities at GBP Hospital

In a significant step toward strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Tripura, Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that a Super Speciality Hospital will be established at the Hapania Jute Mill area in West Tripura district through private investment.

The Chief Minister disclosed this while speaking to reporters on Thursday during a programme held at Agartala Government Medical College & GBP Hospital, where he inaugurated several new medical facilities aimed at improving emergency and specialised healthcare services in the state.

During the event, Dr. Saha formally launched three major healthcare facilities at the state’s premier government hospital. These include a Trauma Operation Theatre, a 16-bedded Geriatric and Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and a Labour Room-cum-Obstetrics Operation Theatre Complex.

Addressing the media after inaugurating the facilities, the Chief Minister said the new infrastructure would significantly enhance the hospital’s ability to provide advanced and timely treatment.

He stated that the newly launched facilities will strengthen emergency response systems and expand the availability of specialised medical services, ensuring improved treatment and better healthcare support for patients across the state.

Dr. Saha also emphasized that Tripura’s healthcare sector has been witnessing remarkable progress in recent years. Several new hospitals and medical colleges are being developed across the state, and efforts are underway to establish a Medical University in Tripura to further strengthen medical education and healthcare delivery.

“As part of our commitment to strengthening healthcare services, these facilities will significantly enhance our capacity to provide timely, specialised and quality healthcare services to the people,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that the government remains steadfast in its commitment to building a robust, modern and people-centric healthcare system, ensuring a healthier future for the people of Tripura.

The proposed Super Speciality Hospital at Hapania, once implemented through private investment, is expected to further expand advanced healthcare services in the state and reduce the need for patients to travel outside Tripura for specialised treatment.
