Special team formed to probe Bishalgarh gang clash case

Police in Sepahijala district have constituted a special interrogation team to intensify the investigation into the recent violent clashes between two rival groups allegedly involved in narcotics trafficking.
The clashes, described by police as a “gang war”, reportedly saw members of the two rackets chasing each other with weapons. One accused was arrested soon after the incident, while several others managed to flee and are currently absconding.
According to an official order, the team has been formed under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (Sepahijala) Rajib Sutradhar to interrogate the arrested accused in Bishalgarh PS Case No. 20261110016. The case has been registered under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
The team comprises SDPO Bishalgarh Vikash Senthiya, OCs Subimal Barman (Kalamchoura), Bijoy Das (Bishalgarh) and Tapash Das (Sonamura), along with Sub-Inspectors Supratim Dey, the Investigating Officer, and Subhajit Deb.
The team will function under the overall leadership of the Additional SP, with directions to submit daily progress reports and prepare a detailed interrogation report to expedite the probe.
