A shocking incident of armed violence allegedly linked to drug trafficking unfolded in Charilam market, raising serious concerns about law and order in the area. A group of youths reportedly arrived from Bishalgarh in two vehicles and launched a brazen attack in the middle of the busy marketplace.
According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants, armed with weapons, targeted the driver of another vehicle in the market area. The driver was allegedly beaten mercilessly before the attackers snatched a consignment of suspected narcotic substances and fled the scene.
