Agartala Girl Wins Gold at NLU Jodhpur, Honoured by CJI

Astha Samanta, a meritorious student from Agartala, has been awarded the Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance in the BA LLB programme at prestigious National Law University, Jodhpur.

The medal was presented by the Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, at the university’s 18th Convocation held in Jodhpur on 21 February 2026.

The ceremony was attended by judges of the Supreme Court of India, including Justice Sandeep Mehta and Justice Vijay Bishnoi, as well as the Acting Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, Justice SP Sharma.

An alumna of Auxilium Girls’ School, Agartala, Astha secured 3rd rank in the State in CBSE Class XII (Arts) in 2020. She later qualified CLAT with distinction and completed her five-year BA LLB course at NLU Jodhpur with consistent excellence.

She is the daughter of Shri Pinaki Samanta, IPS, presently posted in Manipur. Her achievement is a proud moment for Tripura and an inspiration for aspiring students.
