Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ connects households across the country and presents issues and experiences of citizens from different walks of life.

Saha made the remarks after attending the broadcast of the 131st episode of the programme at a booth-level event in Mohanpur Assembly constituency.

He said the programme was organised across booths in the state and many people also listened to it from their homes. According to the chief minister, the initiative provides a platform where matters concerning the public are discussed.

Referring to the latest episode, Saha said the prime minister highlighted the story of a minor girl, Alien Sherin Abraham, whose parents donated her organs after her death. He said the message drew attention to organ donation and humanitarian values.

The chief minister said organ transplant services have expanded in Tripura, with around five kidney transplants conducted so far. He added that both donors and recipients were in stable condition. The state is also considering the introduction of heart and liver transplant facilities in the future, he said.

Saha further said the prime minister cited examples of individuals overcoming physical challenges and achieving success in sports, including participation in the Paralympics. He also referred to the emphasis laid on better utilisation of water bodies for agricultural development, stating that the programme encourages citizen engagement in national initiatives.
