BJP MLA and BJYM state president Sushanta Deb on Sunday asserted that any conspiracy aimed at obstructing development in Bishalgarh would be confronted politically. He was addressing a one-day mandal conference organised by the BJP’s Bishalgarh mandal at the Bishalgarh Town Higher Secondary School ground.

According to party sources, nearly 2,500 workers from 60 booths participated in the conference. Deb alleged that during the last Assembly elections, several political calculations were made to stall the BJP’s progress, including an alliance between the Congress and the CPI(M). Despite these challenges, he claimed, party workers in Bishalgarh “created new history” by ensuring victory.

The MLA maintained that development activities were now progressing across the constituency with public support. He alleged that under the previous regime, several municipal wards and rural pockets had suffered neglect. Road connectivity, drinking water supply and electricity coverage are now being expanded across villages, he said.

Criticising the opposition, Deb accused them of raising baseless questions on law and order and development. He also referred to past political violence in the constituency, including the killing of two MLAs, and said such incidents should not be forgotten. The programme concluded with a community meal and distribution of fruit packets to minority workers observing Ramzan.
