Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Wednesday chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the State Secretariat to assess the progress of announcements made in the Budget Speech for the financial year 2025–26.

Senior officers representing key departments attended the meeting, which focused on evaluating the pace of implementation and strengthening inter-departmental coordination. The Minister reviewed the status of major schemes and policy initiatives outlined in the Budget and sought detailed updates on administrative clearances, allocation of funds and groundwork completed so far.

In a statement shared on his social media handle, the Minister said that the meeting was convened to discuss the execution of various Budget announcements in the presence of departmental officials. He emphasised the need for timely action, careful monitoring and removal of procedural bottlenecks to ensure that commitments translate into measurable outcomes.

Officials briefed the Minister on preparedness, operational planning and mechanisms put in place for effective delivery. Strategies to enhance efficiency in utilisation of funds and adherence to stipulated timelines were also discussed.

The review gains importance as the state prepares for the upcoming Budget session, with the government aiming to demonstrate tangible progress on its fiscal commitments.
