Locals detained two cars with 12 cows and assaulted the driver as he failed to show any document for carrying animal

Local residents of Deochera village under Panisagar Police Station in North Tripura District detained two Bolero pick-up vans with 12 Barmis cows, suspecting that the cows were stolen from their locality. People also detained the driver of a can while another one managed to escape. Agitated people beat the man severely and handed him over to the police.

Local people were agitated over the growing number of cows being lifted from the area and were keeping a vigilant eye. They detained the two vehicles, each carrying six cows, and told the drivers to show legal documents for carrying the animals, but they failed.

Agitated people assaulted the driver. Meanwhile, the police arrived in the scene and rescued the driver. He was taken to the local hospital as his condition was serious.
