ESIC continues its mandated employee and labour welfare activities in Tripura big amount of cash benefit disbursed in January

The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), launched by the government of India way back in 1948 to provide medical benefits to poor paid employees and workers in the private sector has been rendering yeoman’s service all over the country . Tripura is not exception to this as the state branch of ESIC in Tripura has been continuing its financial assistance programme to poor-paid workers and employees in the state.
In a statement Samar Das, manager of the ESIC branch at Agartala , said that in the month of January 2026 also the Corporation has disbursed a total amount of Rs 6,49,521.00 in cash to 62 beneficiaries. The amount was released to the registered beneficiaries on the heads of Sickness Benefit (SB), Temporary Disablement Benefit (TDB), Permanent Disablement Benefit (PDB), Dependents’ Benefit (DB), Maternity Benefit (MB) and others, said Samar Das.
The breakdown of the cash benefits given to eligible people in January this year are-Rs 1,56, 851.00 among 23 workers and employees as Sickness Benefit, Rs 26,628.00 among 8 beneficiaries on the haad of Permanent Disablement Benefit (PDB), Rs 1,02,429.00 among 26 workers as Dependents Benefit, Rs 3, 43,951.00 among 3 female workers and employees as Maternity Benefit (MB), Rs 15 thousand to only one worker as funeral benefit, Rs 4762.00 to one worker as Covid-19 Relief Scheme (CRS). This brought the total to Rs 6,49,521.00, Branch Manager Samar Das added.
