Domestic violence , younger brother in law (Devar) molests and tries to rape elder sister in law (Boudi), arrested by police

In an unseemly incident of domestic dispute and violence , symptomatic of the erosion of family values, a younger brother in law assaulted his elder brother and tried to molest and rape his elder sister in law . However , he was resisted from going ahead with the mischief by family members and neighbours who had rushed in after hearing cries for help. The incident happened in Kanchan Mala area under Amtoli police station yesterday in the evening.
Giving details of the incident police sources from Amtoli said that Jhuton Roy (27) , son of late Chandra Mohan Roy and an ill-tempered motor bike mechanic , is always in the habit of picking quarrels with his two elder brothers Tutan Roy (30) and Gautam Roy (35) and their wives after returning home every night on one excuse or the other. Yesterday around 6-00 in the evening miscreant Jhuton Roy returned home and picked a quarrel with his immediate elder brother Tuton Roy and the latter’s wife-Jhuton’s elder sister in law (Boudi). Having seen this his eldest brother Gautam Roy reached the spot and tried to pacify ill-tempered Jhuton but he started misbehaving and finally assaulting his eldest brother . Gautam Roy’s wife-Jhutan’s elder sister in law-rushed to the spot and tried to save her husband. But in stead of cooling down Jhuton turned on her and treid to molest and rape her. This caused a hue and cry and the closest neighbours rushed to the spot and stopped Jhuton in his misdeeds.
After being informed of what had happened a team of Amtoli police station rushed to the spot and detained Jhuton and brought him to the police station under custody. Sources said that appropriate charges against miscreant Jhuton have been registered and he is being produced in court today for custodial interrogation . An FIR in this regard was also filed by Jhuton’s eldest sister in law against him and the charges have been registered on the basis of this FIR.
