Ahmed Javed Tripura University Chancellor Holds High-Level Meeting to Improve Academic Standards and Research Quality

Chancellor of Tripura University, Acharya Ahmed Javed, yesterday convened an important meeting at the Council Hall of Tripura Central University to review academic performance, research standards, and administrative issues of the institution.
The meeting was attended by Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Shyamal Das, Acting Registrar Professor Sameer Shil, Finance Officer Debashish Pal, and several senior professors and university officials.
During the meeting, the Chancellor emphasized the need to improve the overall quality of Tripura University after his recent visit to the state. He discussed the current challenges faced by the university and called for concrete measures to raise academic standards in line with national and international benchmarks.
In yesterday's session, professors from various departments presented detailed reports outlining the existing problems of the university. They focused on ways to enhance the quality of education, strengthen research output, and highlight the achievements of researchers at the national level.
Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Shyamal Das reviewed the decisions taken over the past three months and explained the steps implemented for the benefit of students and teaching staff. He also shared future development plans aimed at strengthening the university’s academic and research infrastructure.
Acting Registrar Professor Sameer Shil highlighted the progress made by the university in maintaining international research standards and stressed the importance of collaborative academic initiatives.
Chancellor Acharya Ahmed Javed stated that the primary objective of Tripura University is to resolve the issues faced by teaching staff and students while simultaneously improving research quality and academic excellence.
Finance Officer Debashish Pal presented details regarding financial matters and discussed budgetary concerns with the Chancellor.
Several senior professors, including Professor Alok Bhattacharya, Professor Sayan Roy Choudhury, Professor Somdev Banik, Professor Badal Dao, and Professor Chinmoy Roy, actively participated in the discussion and shared their views on academic and administrative reforms.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to implement effective measures to elevate Tripura University’s standards and ensure holistic academic development.
