Union Rural Development Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today highly appreciated the creativity and skill of rural women from Tripura after witnessing a unique pressure cooker made entirely from clay. The innovative product, prepared by local self-help group members, was showcased at an exhibition stall during the ‘Viksit Bharat – Ji Ram Ji (VB-G RAM G) Public Representatives Conference’ held at Swami Vivekananda (Astabal) Ground, Agartala.

Expressing admiration for the craftsmanship of Tripura’s women, the Union Minister described the initiative as a shining example of rural innovation and self-reliance. He emphasized that such indigenous products reflect the potential of rural livelihoods and should be encouraged through better market access and government support.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Chouhan reiterated the Central Government’s commitment to guarantee 125 days of work under VB-G RAM G and assured that rural employment generation remains a top priority of the Narendra Modi government. He called upon public representatives to work actively at the grassroots level to ensure that developmental schemes reach every household.

The conference witnessed the participation of MLAs, Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipatis, Panchayat Samiti Chairpersons, Panchayat Pradhans, and public representatives from various levels. The Minister congratulated all elected representatives for making the event a grand success and for their dedication toward rural development.

He also extended heartfelt appreciation to officials of the Rural Development Department, District Magistrates, BDOs, and officers from different departments for organizing the conference with discipline, coordination, and sincerity.

During his visit, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan toured several stalls set up by the Rural Livelihood Mission and local entrepreneurs, showcasing traditional products and achievements of self-help groups. He interacted with women artisans and encouraged them to continue their efforts toward economic empowerment.

In his concluding remarks, the Union Minister stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is moving ahead with the collective goal of building a developed and prosperous India by 2047.

However, some local voices expressed concern regarding the ground reality of rural employment, pointing out that despite promises of 125 days of work, regular availability of VB-G RAM G jobs remains a challenge in several areas.

The event ended with renewed commitment from both public representatives and officials to strengthen rural livelihoods and ensure effective implementation of government schemes across Tripura.
