Chief Minister Urges Voters to Support BJP in ADC Polls

Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday called upon voters to elect the BJP in the forthcoming 2026 Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections, asserting that peace and development would be further strengthened under his party’s leadership.

Addressing a party gathering at the old Gamaria School ground in the Matarbari Assembly constituency, Saha alleged that certain political forces were attempting to mislead locals and create unrest for political advantage. Without naming any party, he criticised a regional tribal leadership and accused some groups of spreading confusion over ADC-related issues.

He maintained that lasting peace sometimes required firm legal measures and said the government would act decisively to prevent violence. Dismissing claims that ADC areas were being turned into urban local bodies, he termed the allegations baseless.

Saha reiterated the Centre’s commitment to inclusive development and indicated that a separate department for Kokborok language development was under consideration.
