Tripura has scripted a remarkable success story at the national level with its outstanding performance in the Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) 2.0, bringing unprecedented recognition to the state’s Panchayati Raj system.

According to the latest results of the PAI 2.0 assessment, Jugal Kishore Nagar Village Committee under Jampuijala RD Block of Sepahijala district has secured first place nationwide among nearly 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats across India. The village committee achieved the highest score in the country with an impressive 88.44 points, marking a proud moment for Tripura.

Adding to this achievement, Dakshin Nalchar Gram Panchayat of Nalchar RD Block secured the third position nationally with a score of 88.14, while Cheschrimai Gram Panchayat under Charilam RD Block earned the fourth position with a score of 87.85. The presence of three Panchayats from Tripura among the top four in the country highlights the exceptional efficiency and grassroots governance in the state.

Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha expressed deep satisfaction and pride over this extraordinary accomplishment. He described the achievement as a true reflection of a well-organized, transparent, and empowered Panchayat system functioning effectively in Tripura.

Dr. Saha extended his heartfelt congratulations to all Panchayat representatives, officials, and stakeholders associated with rural development, acknowledging their dedication and collective effort behind this national success.

This achievement reinforces Tripura’s growing reputation as a model state in decentralized governance and rural administration. The recognition under PAI 2.0 not only boosts the morale of Panchayat bodies but also sets a new benchmark for grassroots development and public service delivery in the state.

With this landmark success, Tripura has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening local self-governance and ensuring inclusive development at the village level.
