Tripura Gramin Bank Achieves National First with Launch of Co-Branded RuPay Credit Card in Golden Jubilee Year

Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) has scripted a historic achievement by launching its first-ever Co-Branded RuPay Credit Card in collaboration with its sponsor bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB), marking a major milestone in the Golden Jubilee Year of the Bank’s establishment.

With this initiative, Tripura Gramin Bank has earned the distinction of becoming the first Regional Rural Bank among the eight RRBs sponsored by Punjab National Bank and the first such RRB in the entire country, to introduce a Co-Branded RuPay Credit Card. The launch represents a significant breakthrough in the rural banking sector and sets a new benchmark in digital financial inclusion.

The landmark achievement has been realized under the visionary leadership of Shri Satyendra Singh, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank. His strategic direction, progressive outlook, and strong commitment to digital empowerment and customer-focused banking have played a pivotal role in steering the Bank toward this innovative venture. The introduction of the credit card reflects TGB’s growing emphasis on modernization, financial accessibility, and technological advancement.

The PNB–TGB Co-Branded RuPay Credit Card is expected to greatly enhance banking convenience, particularly for customers in rural and semi-urban areas. It will enable them to access modern credit facilities seamlessly within the secure and widely accepted RuPay ecosystem, thereby strengthening financial inclusion and expanding digital payment adoption across the state.

The prestigious launch ceremony was graced by several eminent dignitaries, including Smt. Rakhi Biswas, Director (Small Savings, Group Insurance & Institutional Finance), Government of Tripura, Shri Satyendra Singh, Chairman, Tripura Gramin Bank, Shri Deepak Kumar, General Manager, Public Relations & Credit Card Division, Punjab National Bank Head Office, Shri Taufique Alam, MD & CEO, PNB Cards & Services Ltd., Shri Diganta Kumar Das, Deputy General Manager, NABARD, Tripura Regional Office and Shri Rituraj Krishna, Deputy General Manager and Circle Head, PNB Circle Office, Agartala.
