Tripura University Teachers’ Council Election Strengthens Academic Governance and Institutional Growth

Tripura University has taken an important step towards strengthening academic governance and institutional development with the successful conclusion of the Teachers’ Council (TUTC) Election 2026. The newly elected body is expected to play a key role in promoting faculty participation, enhancing transparency in decision-making, and supporting the overall progress of the university for the 2026–28 term.

According to the official notification issued by the university, Prof. Anirban Guha has been elected President, while Dr. Kalicharan Jha and Prof. Subhrabaran Das will serve as Vice Presidents I and II respectively. Dr. Krishnendu Dhar has been elected Secretary, Dr. Sudipta Pal as Joint Secretary I, Dr. Mousami Debbarma as Joint Secretary II, and Dr. Prasenjit Sinha as Treasurer.

The formation of the new Teachers’ Council is expected to bring several benefits to Tripura University. A strong and representative council will help in addressing academic concerns, improving faculty welfare, and creating a healthy environment for teaching and research. By providing a formal platform for teachers to share their views, the council will contribute to better coordination between faculty members and university administration.
