Major Reshuffle at OC Level in Tripura Police, 16 transferred

In a significant administrative move, the Tripura Police Headquarters has ordered a major reshuffle at the level of Officers-in-Charge (OCs) and Inspectors across various districts and police stations of the state. The transfer and posting order, issued in public interest, will take effect immediately.

According to the official order issued by the Police Headquarters, Tripura (PHQ Order No. 22/2026), as many as 16 police officers, including Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors, have been transferred and reposted to new assignments. The reshuffle covers key police stations and districts such as North District, Gomati, Unakoti, Sepahijala, South District and specialised units like TPCB.

Among the notable changes, Inspector Bishu Ranjan Dey has been transferred from Officer-in-Charge of Belonia Police Station and posted as Inspector (DIB) in North District. Inspector Sanjit Sen has been moved from North District to OC, Belonia Police Station. Inspector Partha Nath Bhowmik has been shifted from OC, Fatikroy Police Station to TPCB, while Inspector Sahadeb Das has been posted as OC, Fatikroy Police Station from Lefunga Police Station.

Several police stations have seen changes in leadership. Inspector Rajkumar Jamatia has been posted as OC, Lefunga Police Station, while Inspector Sumanta Bhattacharjee has been transferred from Panisagar Police Station to Unakoti District. Inspector Ashutosh Sharma will now serve as OC, Panisagar Police Station, replacing Bhattacharjee.

Inspector Debajit Chatterjee has been transferred from OC, Madhupur Police Station to TPCB, and SI (UB) Ujjal Chowdhury has taken charge as OC, Madhupur Police Station. Inspector Jayanta Debnath has been moved from OC, Kadamtala Police Station to North District, while Inspector Gurupada Debnath has been posted as the new OC of Kadamtala Police Station.

Other important transfers include Inspector Sanjay Laskar to OC, Sidhai Police Station; Inspector Subimal Barman to OC, Kalamchoura Police Station; and Inspector Bishnupada Bhowmik to OC, Natun Bazar Police Station. Inspector Sushanta Deb has been shifted from OC, A.D. Nagar Police Station to OC, Airport Police Station, while SI (UB) Abhijit Mandal has been posted as OC, A.D. Nagar Police Station.

The order has been issued with the approval of the Director General of Police, Tripura, and signed by the Assistant Inspector General of Police (Establishment). Copies of the order have been forwarded to senior police officers for information and necessary action.

Police sources stated that the reshuffle is aimed at strengthening policing, improving administrative efficiency, and ensuring better law and order management across the state.
