Governor of Tripura Visits TDF and Piggery Cluster at Atharabhola, Reviews NABARD–BAPCL Livelihood Projects

Indrasena Reddy Nallu, Governor of Tripura, today visited the TDF and Piggery Cluster at Atharabhola under Killa R.D. Block to review livelihood development initiatives implemented by Bagma Agri Producer Company Ltd. (BAPCL) with financial support from NABARD, Tripura Regional Office.

The programme began with the felicitation of the Hon’ble Governor and other distinguished guests, followed by a welcome address by Sudip Majumder, Managing Director, BAPCL. The General Manager of NABARD, Tripura Regional Office, briefed the gathering on the objectives and progress of the project focusing on agri-business development and financial empowerment of farmers.

Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble MLA of 30-Bagma Assembly Constituency highlighted the importance of Farmer Producer Organizations in strengthening rural livelihoods. An interactive session was also held with beneficiaries of the Piggery Cluster of Atharabhola and TDF project of Killa R.D. Block, where farmers shared their experiences and outcomes from the project.

In his keynote address, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu appreciated the joint efforts of NABARD and BAPCL in promoting sustainable livelihood models among tribal farmers through scientific piggery, plantation and allied agricultural activities. He emphasized that such cluster-based approaches would enhance income generation, self-reliance and socio-economic development in rural and tribal areas of Tripura.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Md. Farukul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of BAPCL.

Later, the Governor undertook a field visit to several project sites, including the piggery farm of Anei Rani Molsom at Atharabhola and TDF plantations of beneficiaries at Atharabhola, Jalema and Bagma ADC areas. He interacted with beneficiaries and observed the progress of plantation and livestock activities on the ground.

Officials stated that the visit of the Hon’ble Governor has boosted the morale of farmers and strengthened the resolve of NABARD and BAPCL to expand such livelihood-oriented initiatives across the district.
