The BJP seem to have decided upon a concrete strategy of political aggression against the divisive politics and fissiparous tendencies promoted by Pradyot Kishore and his ‘Tipra Motha’ party. While the chief minister Dr Manik Saha has made his intents and stand clear on the issue of ‘Roman script’ and other sensitive issues raised by ‘Tipra Motha’ in mass rallies, his junior colleagues in the party including the leading figures in the tribal front organisation ‘Jana Jati Morcha’ have taken a more aggressive stand of fight-back.
This came to the fore yesterday in a rally on the ground of Shyam Singh school in Sabroom subdivision. Speaking in the rally former MP and senior ‘Jana Jati Morcha’ leader Rebati Tripura launched a blistering attack on Pradyot Kishore and his cohorts in ‘Tipra Motha’. Rebati demanded a comprehensive audit of accounts of the ADC over the past five years by a special team of the CAG to expose the ‘series of scams and plundering of public money by the Tipra Motha leaders running the ADC. “We know why the ADC was formed but the basic purpose of constituting the ADC has been defeated by the ‘Tipra Motha’ through organised plundering; at a time when the ADC can not pay the legitimate pension benefits of the retired ADC employees owing to an ostensible resource crunch, the chief executive member (CEM) and other EMs and other members of ‘Motha’ running the ADC are looting money quite brazenly and building muti-storied residential structures; corruption has become a way of life in ADC under ‘Tipra Motha” said Rebati.
Accusing Pradyot of silent connivance in the collective plundering of the ADC exchequer by ‘Motha’ members Rebati demanded an explation for this. “Pradyot talks of constitutional solution and his party is opposing the audit of ADC accounts by CAG which is also a constitutional measure; this can not go on“ said Rebati. He asserted that ‘Pradyot is a friend of Rahul Gandhi and there is no difference in intellectual standards between the two friends; they just work at different levels of politics in the country’. Rebati asserted that the tribal electorate should ensure a victory of BJP in the upcoming ADC election so that their vital socio-economic and political interests can be protected.
