Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly Election 2026, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has finalised a detailed list of prabasi (outstation) leaders from various states to strengthen its election campaign across different zones of the state, including Nabadwip, Kolkata, Howrah–Hooghly–Midnapore (HMM), region.
The list includes senior leaders, legislators, former ministers, organisational office-bearers, and youth leaders deputed from several states such as Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, and Tripura. These leaders will work in coordination with the West Bengal BJP unit to oversee organisational activities, election preparedness, and grassroots mobilisation in the allotted districts.
From Tripura, four BJP leaders have been entrusted with key responsibilities in the West Bengal campaign. They are Sushanta Deb, Member of the Legislative Assembly and State President of BJP Yuva Morcha, Tripura, Nabadal Banik, Tripura industrial development corporation Chairman from Tripura, MLA Bhagaban Das, State General Secretary of BJP, Tripura, and Abhishek Debroy, Member of the Legislative Assembly from Matabari, Tripura. The Tripura leaders have been assigned responsibilities in different districts of Nadia and North 24 Parganas as part of the party’s broader campaign strategy.
Party sources said the deployment of experienced leaders from Tripura reflects the BJP’s confidence in the organisational skills developed by the party in the state over the past few years. The leaders are expected to assist in booth-level management, coordination with local party workers, and effective implementation of campaign programmes during the election period.
The BJP leadership believes that the inter-state organisational approach will provide additional strength to the party’s election machinery in West Bengal, particularly in strategically important zones. Senior leaders deputed from outside the state will work closely with the state unit to ensure focused campaigning and effective voter outreach ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls.
