Tripura cricket witnessed a proud and historic moment as Manisankar Murasingh, the current captain of Blood Mouth Club’s cricket team and the state team, achieved a rare milestone by playing his 100th First-Class match at the national level representing Tripura. To mark this remarkable achievement, Blood Mouth Club organised a felicitation programme in his honour at the Sports Park located at Ramnagar No. 1.

The programme was graced by the presence of Tapan Lodh, Chief Advisor of the Tripura Cricket Association, as the chief guest, while Upananda Debbarma, Vice-President of the Tripura Cricket Association, attended as the special guest. Members of the executive committee of Blood Mouth Club, general members, local residents, coaches, club players, trainees from the training centre and their guardians were also present in large numbers, making the occasion memorable.

Speakers at the event highlighted that Manisankar Murasingh’s success is the result of his consistent dedication, discipline and relentless hard work since the 2014–15 season. They described him as an inspiration and role model for the future generation of cricketers in Tripura. It was also mentioned that several other promising players from the state are likely to reach the 100-match milestone in the near future, reflecting the growing strength of Tripura cricket. Shri Sebak Bhattacharjee,

On behalf of Blood Mouth Club, and other officials congratulated the talented cricketer for his outstanding achievement and acknowledged his contribution to the club’s success. They specifically noted that under Manisankar’s captaincy, Blood Mouth Club has won multiple trophies in the Senior Division this year, further cementing his leadership credentials.

The speakers also praised the role of Blood Mouth Club in the overall development of sports in the state. Manisankar Murasingh was described as an ideal figure for young athletes training at the club-run Sports Park, which is set to become the first sports park in the country to introduce a structured syllabus and examination system at the earliest. This initiative was termed a new and significant milestone in Tripura’s cricket history.

During the programme, the club’s officials also highlighted Blood Mouth Club’s contribution to football. The club emerged as league champions in football this year as well. It was revealed that within three days of winning the league, Blood Mouth Club had written to the Tripura Football Association expressing its willingness to participate in the I-League, stating that such participation could have taken Tripura football to greater heights. However, even after four months, no response has been received from the Tripura Football Association. Despite this, the club expressed hope that the association would take a positive step in the larger interest of football development in the state.

At the same time, the officials lauded the proactive and supportive role of the Tripura Cricket Association in nurturing cricketing talent across Tripura, stating that such cooperation is essential for the sustained growth of sports in the state.

The felicitation of Manisankar Murasingh thus stood not only as a celebration of an individual milestone but also as a reflection of Tripura’s rising stature in Indian sports.
