The Islamist cauldron in Bangladeshi hellscape continues to burn bright and hot as the February 12 election to the country draws close by the day. In the latest targeted killing of minorities over the past 17 months, a poor and innocent Hindu worker in a grarage was roasted alive by ‘Momins’ in Narsingdi subdistrict town 50 kms away from the capital Dhaka on last January 24 night. Sources from Bangladesh said that Chanchal Kumar Bhowmik (23), son of old Khokan Chandra Bhowmik of Laxmipur village under Barura subdistrict in Comilla district, had been working in a garage at Narsingdi subdistrict town’s Khanabari mosque market area over the past two years. He was thus maintaining his family comprising his old parents , physically handicapped elder brother and a younger brother who is a school student.

It was on last Saturday night-that is , January 24-that Chanchal Kumar Bhowmik had fallen asleep inside the garage in stead of going back to his nearby shanty out of sheer tiredness. A gang of ‘Momin’ killers who had been eyeing him for targeted killing as part of effort to earn ‘divine merit’ materialised in front of the garage packed with inflammable materials at midnight and set it on fire after locking the doors from outside. Even as hapless Chanchal Kumar Bhowmik desperately tried to save himself by frantically running helter skelter within the burning and locked garage the fiendish ‘Momin’ killers waited outside to see the end by peeping through a hole and then left.

By the time the matter came to light on Sunday or January 25 morning Chanchal had been reduced to charred remains . The police arrived on the spot and arranged to have Chanchal’s remains removed to hospital morgue . The whole diabolical killing was captured on CCTV but the ‘Momin’ killers have not yet been facially identified . Sources said that the ‘Momin’ police is still conducting the nominal investigation and the culprits are unlikely to be arrested and brought to book. Reacting to this a local leader of a political party in Comilla said that this is nothing new in Bangladesh or in anyother ‘Momin’ land. “This has been going on since the years 632-634 in the desert oases as divinely enjoined act of piety for the ‘Momins’ : the burning alive of a Jordanian pilot by the ISIS devils in the year 2015 is a case in point; let us see how far this goes” said the leader cynically .
