Tripura Celebrates 77th Republic Day with Grandeur, Governor Calls for Unity and a Shared Vision of Viksit Bharat

The main state-level celebration of the 77th Republic Day was held with solemn dignity and patriotic fervour at the Assam Rifles Ground in Tripura, in the august presence of Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu. Addressing the gathering after unfurling the National Flag, the Governor emphasised the ideals of unity, harmony and collective responsibility, urging citizens to work together towards the shared vision of a Viksit Bharat and a developed Tripura.

In his address, the Governor paid rich tributes to the great martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and for upholding the sanctity of the Constitution. He underlined that Republic Day is a reminder of India’s constitutional values and the duty of every citizen to preserve democracy, equality and social justice.

The Republic Day ceremony at the Assam Rifles Ground was attended by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Director General of Police Anurag Dhankar, along with senior civil, police and administrative officers.

Ahead of Republic Day, Tripura wore a festive look, with government and non-government offices across the state beautifully decorated, reflecting the spirit of national pride and celebration.

On the auspicious occasion, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha unfurled the National Flag at his official residence on SPM Lane, reaffirming the state government’s solemn commitment to the sacred ideals of the Constitution and the eternal spirit of the Republic. Extending warm greetings to the people, the Chief Minister congratulated all citizens on the 77th Republic Day and called upon everyone to draw inspiration from constitutional values to move forward with renewed resolve on the path of unity, democracy and progress.

As part of the day’s observances, Minister for Power and other departments Ratan Lal Nath laid wreaths at Gandhibedi, Gandhighat at 6.30 am, and later at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Albert Ekka Park, Lichubagan, at 7.00 am, paying homage to the nation’s heroes. He also unfurled the National Flag at the Civil Secretariat, Capital Complex, at 7.30 am.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr) Manik Saha is scheduled to attend the prize distribution ceremony of the State-Level Tribal Folk Dance Competition at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Hall No. 1, Agartala, this evening at 6.00 pm, marking a cultural highlight of the Republic Day celebrations in the state.

The 77th Republic Day celebrations in Tripura thus combined patriotic spirit, constitutional reverence and cultural vibrancy, reinforcing the state’s commitment to inclusive development and national unity.
