School student seriously injured in road mishap in Jolaibari

In what is now a daily occurrence in different parts of the state, a school student named Ishan Paul (15), a student of class IX , was pushed hard by a speeding vehicle on the Jolaibari bypass road . The injured student , a resident of Madhyapilak area under Jolaibari police station and student of Jolaibari HS school, had been heading for school on foot along the bypass road. He was suddenly pushed down by a speeding vehicle and lay bleeding there before local people rushed to the spot and took him to the Jolaibari community health centre.

He was given primary treatment in the community health centre but then taken to subdivisional hospital at Santir Bazar where he is lying on bed with a fractured left leg. Sources from Jolaibari said that a criminal case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS) has been registered in the case but the driver of the vehicle that had hit the school student Ishan Paul is yet to be arrested. However, police sources said that hunt is on and the guilty driver will be arrested soon in connection with the case.
